I graduated from UW-Stevens Point with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Family and Consumer Science, which prior to 1984 was called Home Economics. After college, I taught for 3 years at Sheboygan Falls High School before moving to the Suring area. For the next 20 years, my husband and I owned and operated a seasonal restaurant in Suring. In 2004, I returned to teaching here at Lena and earned my Health license from UWSP and an online teaching certification from Viterbo.

I grew up in Brookfield Wisconsin. After graduating from University of Wisconsin Stevens Point, I met my husband Nels at our first teaching jobs in Sheboygan Falls. In 1983, Nels and I moved up north to the Suring/Mountain area where we raised our three children, Jacob, Katie and Mitchell. When not teaching, I enjoy reading, playing cribbage, working mahjong, KenKen, & jigsaw puzzles, cooking, crafting, and doing volunteer work for my church. I love spending time visiting my children and grandchildren and being around my extended family.
